MARMA CHIKILSA - part of Kalari treatments

Healing has always been an important part of Kalaripayattu and it is called as Marma Chikilsa (Marma Treatment). Marma Chikilsa (Treatment) is a system of medicine used along with Ayurveda and Sidda systems, mainly for the treatment of arthritis, spondylosis, back pain, sprains, sports injuries and certain other orthopedic disorders and neuromuscular problems.

How it works?
According to kalari system a human body consists of 107 vital points (Marmas). These vital points are located at the junctions where flesh, veins, arteries tendon, nerves, bones and joints meet. The knowledge about these marma's plays a major role in the efficacy of Kalari Chikilsa. The treatment is all about detecting the vital spots affected and restoring them.
